Final Project

I have had a few different Linked-In accounts I found out when searching for people to connect with and eventually got most of them merged. So, there were a few things that I had to look up, that other students in the class most likely didn’t have to dig down into. When I tried to use it before it was not to the extend as I did for this assignment.  I know that different companies use this tool to look for employees and that it is something that will pay off in the end. I have learned some ends and outs of social media that I never had endeavored on before, but I am grateful for that experience because no I will not be as stand offish as I was in the past. I will admit that when I started digging into the different parts of Linked-In I found it confusing and a little tedious to get started, but then once I got into it and started the first part the rest sort of followed in suit.

Linked-In Profile

Some of the stuff with Twitter I still find confusing because I find it hard to say what I need to in the very limited character count that you must use and the use of hashtags and which ones to use properly. I did find the portion on how different social media platforms use calculations to route you a certain direction to fit the purpose you are trying to accomplish. I still find that I am a little apprehensive on divulging some information out there for others to have ready access to and know about me, but I am sure that I will ease into it if needed. I find that there are sometimes that you do not need to fully put everything out there unless it is required.

I will be honest I will most likely still use some privacy blocking sites when I want to search for certain things because I still find it odd that I can look something up and then see it on my Facebook, Instagram, or some other feed in my social media. I think that some of the things that you look up on the internet should stay confidential no matter what. I have even made sure to link together my Twitter, Blog, and Linked-in pages so that everything is there and able to be discovered. Although I am not really digging into the Information Science field where most of this access is not encouraged because of my experience in the crypto and cybersecurity field in the military. I am sure I will open up more to the experience and usage the more it seems to become required to succeed.
