Metrics and Analytic: lj3

            The video discussing Tumblr I remember the situation completely. It appears that the government came in and started censoring so much, but then now you have the uprising of the site as we know of called “Only Fans”, so it seems that even though they censored one thing just another popped up somewhere else. I do not recall the part about it involving child pornography unless that was a reason to set the blame on something. The one video that discussed the different ways to tag someone on Twitter seemed more like jumbled garble since I am not such a fan of twitter to begin with. Which after watching it then I decided to open one of the journals reading that discussed the psychology of those that used twitter compared to those that used the other platforms and Facebook. During reading the chapter section of the module I noticed on page 157 where it discusses the age ranges of those that use TikTok being under the age of 30, I feel that at this time and period has changed because I think more users above the age of 30 are on TikTok now, or at least that is most of the video that I am seeing. I feel that it is always the younger generation that does start something but that quickly evolves to include others just as Facebook originally did when it was created.

I found the Wiki reading that discussed the difference between social search, social discovery and social search engines was useful because I had never actually thought about those who many use these certain platforms to search for a variety of different things. When reading the chapter, I have done some website design during my first degree while I was at Polk State College and understand how analytics can play into what makes your page successful. It can also be what makes your page only desirable for one certain audience and hurt you in the long run. The parts concerning RSS feeds I am going to have to go back over and read some because I had heard about these over ten years ago, I think and never really got into it that much. I know it is a more decisive way to search for what you are looking for and pinpoint to a certain audience but not very familiar with it.

  I have used social media for both professional and personal methods. I simply try to keep two different of everything and my personal one mainly stays blocked so that not everyone can see what I post on it. From all this I take away that you must at all times be mindful of what you share and post on these sites because so many things can come back to haunt you.
