          I have had a few different Linked-In accounts I found out when searching for people to connect with and eventually got most of them merged. So, there were a few things that I had to look up, that other students in the class most likely didn’t have to dig down into. When I tried to use it before it was not to the extend as I did for this assignment.  I know that different companies use this tool to look for employees and that it is something that will pay off in the end. I have learned some ends and outs of social media that I never had endeavored on before, but I am grateful for that experience because no I will not be as stand offish as I was in the past.        After watching the videos and reading through some of the readings I find that sometimes I seem to use the EWOM to look for products myself and reviews of businesses to consult for assistance in what I am looking to do. Although I have never really looked through any sites such as Etsy or some of the others that have been mentioned I find that I use and search more for reviews. Just recently I was looking for an attorney for a friend and used some of the Google reviews to look for one that was more qualified and would be the most helpful in my opinion. I find that most people will leave a review easiest when they are unhappy or very happy with the results that they have received when using a provider. Come to find out the attorney they were going to hire was referred by a family friend but was not actually qualified in expertise that they were needing.        Personally, I do not feel that I want to be any kind of social media influencer or be the one that people take my experiences and decisions to use in their own daily life. I have personally worked in the entertainment industry when I lived in Los Angeles and know how social media can be manipulated to control people lives. Some of the readings this week hit my subconscious more than others. I personally have some of people on my Facebook page that are in the entertainment industry that have had television shows made about them and know that how they act on the reality show is truly not their true self. Jay Krymis who is the star of the reality show “In the Big House” is a friend from when I lived in Los Angeles and is also a social media influencer who has starred in many different television shows and movies. I chose that topic of social media in healthcare, because during the pandemic the healthcare industry was greatly affected by not being able to meet personally with healthcare providers. Even with me being a patient at the Veteran’s Administration through James Haley I was greatly affected because I was not able to get the specialized care that is required for my diagnosis. For someone who suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder the one on one that is required to treat someone was not able to be given fully during the pandemic. Most of my doctor’s appointments were done through zoom or a telehealth program where you could meet remotely with your doctor. There were many different issues because someone like myself who already didn’t trust the privacy and security of the internet, there were times that I did not feel completely comfortable to discuss things with the medical professional.      I found the readings from the chapter very interesting. One that caught my attention was on page 237 that discussed Social Media Terrorism. I remember when the Boston Marathon bombings occurred it was brought to light that they were able to learn to build the pressure cooker bombs by watching videos on YouTube. Even with current events going on not many people know that the number one social media outlet in Russia is YouTube. YouTube is also the oldest social media outlet that people have used and posted on. The reading from page 239 also caught my attention because it involves using social media to harass and stalk people. There are times when people have restraining orders against another person, and they use social media to harass that person or stalk their whereabouts.      Some of the readings I understand more because I was of the old day and age of Polaroid and Kodak myself where the only way that you could get any pictures in a digital format you had to scan them. To be honest I found the videos on Instagram interesting but I still most likely will not use it. Years ago, I would always post things on Facebook and other social media outlets. I had tried to use Pinterest at one point, but then could never get into it because it became overwhelming with all the different arts and craft stuff. I come from an artsy family so when I would see different stuff, I would want to try to make it myself or better. To be honest this is all new to me because I barely use Facebook myself.
